The Speechie Life Meet Ishwari Samarakoon

Hi I’m Ish

I am here to help you calm the overwhelm, feel confident in your skills and abilities, get amazing outcomes for your clients, and help you excel in your career!

Access this FREE AI Privacy Checker and instantly see if the tools you’re curious about are safe, compliant, and ready to use in your practice.

Not sure if that AI tool is actually safe to use with clients? You’re not alone.

Privacy and compliance are the number one things holding most speechies (and other health professionals) back from trying AI.

That’s why I created the Speechie Life AI Privacy Checker. It gives you a clear, quick answer on whether an AI tool lines up with Australian standards (APHR, Speech Pathology Australia, and general compliance).

Here’s how it works:

  1. You’ll need a ChatGPT account (the free one is totally fine).

  2. Click the link to open the The Speechie Life AI Privacy Checker in ChatGPT. (It will save to your account so you can use it anytime. Pin it so you can access it more easily.)

  3. Copy and paste the link of the website or tool you want to check into the GPT

  4. You’ll instantly get a traffic light report telling you where it stands and what you can safely use it for.

No jargon, no digging through terms and conditions, no second-guessing.

The traffic light system makes it simple:

🟢 Green | Safe to use in your practice.

  • Strong privacy protections
  • Clear control over your data
  • Relevant for allied health work
  • No concerns around SPA, AHPRA, or privacy standards

🟡 Yellow | Use with caution.

  • Your data might be stored or used for training
  • Privacy settings may need adjusting (e.g. switching on “privacy mode”)
  • Limited clinical testing or validation
  • If you do use it with clients, always double-check settings and get informed consent
  • Usually best for background tasks (emails, drafting resources) rather than in-session work

🔴 Red | Not recommended.

  • Weak or unclear privacy protections
  • Data use is vague or potentially unethical
  • May breach SPA, Ahpra, or Australian privacy standards
  • No way to opt out of training or remove your data

Remember: this isn’t about perfection. It’s about making safe, confident choices with the tools you bring into your practice.

A few extra things people usually ask me:

  • “Do I have to put client data into it?” → No. You only paste the website/tool you’re curious about. No client details, ever.
  • “Is this legal/ethical to use?” → Yes. It’s built around the same compliance guidelines you already follow as a clinician.
  • “Will it tell me exactly what to do next?” → Yes. It doesn’t just give you a colour. It explains what that means for your everyday practice.

This is about taking the worry out of AI so you can step forward with clarity, safety, and confidence.
